I became an unlimited Bookoo member 15 years ago. Over that time I've sold a couple thousand items, in many categories. Occasionally I post things for other family members but mostly it's my stuff. I try to be as detailed as possible. If there is ever more you need to know about something, please feel free to ask. Having done this for a long time, I've learned some valuable lessons. Those lessons have made it necessary for me to implement some safety policies. I always meet people at a public place that's local to me; unless what I'm selling isn't something I can lift into a car. That's rare though. In some cases, I may be traveling through an area that's is closer to where a buyer is. If it's convenient for us both, I'm happy to bring the item with, so the buyer doesn't have drive my way. I also require a phone number, because I find that talking to someone on the phone (not texting) does a few things. Most importantly, it adds a layer of safety to a meet, if I've talked to someone 1st. It also helps to make sure the buyer has a clear understanding of what they're buying; since surprisingly, a lot of people don't read the words in the ad before responding. I've had many people actually tell me they only looked at the pictures. It also helps me to know how serious someone is about showing up. In my early days of selling, I'd been left high & dry without any followup at all. It can still happen, but a lot less when you can talk to someone before hand. I'm all for clear communication. If you decide not to come; after making arrangements, I have no problem with that. Things happen. I understand. All I ask is that you let me know; so I don't waste time & gas driving to a meet spot for nothing. I'm usually willing to negotiate on most things; if I haven't already dropped the price substantially. I will usually do bulk sale discounts too. One last thing...If you're buying from me, I don't really need to know where you live, so there's no need to tell me your address. Some folks include that & I don't know why. A phone number is good enough; unless I'm buying from you. Then I'd need to know where I'm going. But I'd prefer to meet at a public place; if at all possible. I can usually work around your schedule, although I prefer to meet during the daylight hours; for safety reasons mostly. Thank you for your patience & understanding.
